PEACE Plus is a new Special EU Programmes Body funding programme designed to support peace and prosperity across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland, building upon the work of the previous PEACE and INTERREG Programmes. The design reflects the importance of peace-building activity, but also the importance of actions that will contribute positively to the economy, building prosperity and adjusting to the new environment and challenges we face.
Qualifying projects for PEACE Plus will be designed to deliver benefits in the Designated Area of Northern Ireland and the six border Counties but can also include participants and/or partnership from a wider Functional Area including the rest of Ireland. For example, PEACE Plus provides opportunities for
businesses to strengthen or build new North-South partnerships that combine EU and UK connectivity via Northern Ireland.
Ibec's CEO Danny McCoy and Director of Lobbying and Influence Fergal O'Brien will be joined by SEUPB CEO Gina McIntryre, SEUPB representatives, and Ibec's INTERREG VA Representative Michael D'Arcy for a special joint briefing and information exchange on the PEACE Plus programme, its themes, and opportunities for business.
