The Supreme Court recently upheld the constitutionality of the Workplace Relations Commission in the case of Zalewski v Workplace Relations Commission & Others  IESC 000. However, the Supreme Court did identify some of the Workplace Relations Commission’s (WRC)’s practices as inconsistent with the Constitution. In response to this, the WRC have made changes to procedures pending legislative amendments.
In this webinar, Sinead Wallace, Ibec Employment Law Solicitor will give participants an overview of the legal implications of the Supreme Court judgement and what it means for future WRC hearings, followed by a discussion with Stephen Driver, Head of Advocacy Services and Terry McNamara, Northwest Regional Director, on some of the practical considerations for members. We will be joined by David Small, WRC Director of Adjudication Services to discuss the impact of the Supreme Court judgement on the operation of hearings.
