Advanced Manufacturing Winning Poster: DePuy Synthes, Johnson & Johnson

With the limitations of Covid-19, DePuy Synthes faced new challenges with the implementation of their advanced manufacturing strategy. Social distancing became necessary and restricted their ways of working. DePuys project integrated wearable headset technology such as google glass to enable team members to “see what I see”. The technology was deployed globally, and the team are currently evaluating more sophisticated mixed reality headsets to further enhance productivity and training throughout the global DePuy Synthes Network. The judges were impressed by the evidence of significant engagement and teamwork across multiple global teams.

Best implementation of the polymer technology apprenticeship programme: West Contract Manufacturing

West Contract Manufacturing clearly identified the benefits of the Polymer Technologist Apprenticeship programme across key areas such as; career progression, employee retention and creativity.

The judges were impressed by how the apprenticeship programme fits into the overall West strategy and the evidence of teamwork and collaboration to support the apprentices across the business.
