Overview

This year, the annual Ibec Networks Autumn Seminar Series will take place online. The series of five seminars includes a range of thought-provoking guest speakers and topics that will help all businesses move into the new post-Covid business world.

In this Seminar

For decades we have heard the clear evidence-based benefits of gender equality in the workplace. The business case for prioritising equality is undeniable but despite this gender balance might be a major casualty of Covid-19.

The crisis is exacerbating existing challenges for diversity and inclusion, particularly as many of the supports that people usually rely on to help facilitate their working lives have been unavailable. Unfortunately, it is women who carry the burden of up to 3 times more unpaid care and domestic duties than men, therefore intensifying women’s workload and capacity for work. This is creating an imbalance between women in the workplace and their male counterparts.

In addition, we have seen female-orientated industries disproportionately impacted by Covid restrictions resulting in job losses and pay cuts causing higher levels of unemployment for women.

During this is 1-hour seminar, we explore what this means for society and the workplace, while offering support and suggestions to ensure your organisation doesn't undo the vital work achieved in diversity and inclusion.
