The Irish Engineering Enterprises Federation (IEEF) promotes and supports the competitiveness and prosperity of the engineering sector in Ireland. The Federation achieves this through the representation of the sector's interests to national government and EU institutions, the provision of business and market information to companies, and development of specific programmes on key business issues. According to the results for the 2007 CSO Census of Industrial Production, published October 2009, there are over 1,500 engineering enterprises in Ireland. Their activities range from aerospace technology, to materials handling and automotive components. The engineering sector has an aggregate turnover of over €14.2 billion, equating to 9.5% of manufacturing turnover in Ireland. Engineering companies in Ireland employ approximately 53,000 or 22.4% of manufacturing employment. This site aims to give you some of the important information which you will need to make appropriate business decisions.
