The agreed Code of Practice or ICCA Rules ensures that members will exercise the highest professional standard of workmanship and courteous service to customers and will conduct business within the law, practice fair trade and exhibit professional conduct. Furthermore ICCA members agree to maintain a policy of continuing education to improve expertise and to keep up with technology and advances in the industry.

The following are some of the areas that the ICCA has been involved in:

· Training
The ICCA manages the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICS)/ICCA Self Certification scheme for members. The COPC Foundation Programme for Professional Cleaners is intended as a route to the development, assessment and assurance of basic competence in new recruits to the cleaning industry.

· Workshops / Briefing Seminars
The ICCA holds workshops for members on areas such as health and safety, equality, human resources and employment law and other issues impacting on the sector.

· IBEC Services
The ICCA is entitled to IBEC central services on a group basis.
