WORK EXPERIENCE FOR GRADUATES
Graduates Home
The aim of this programme is to provide you, the graduate, with an opportunity to gain useful workplace experience and to give you an opportunity to apply the skills you gained in college. In these more difficult economic times, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a job and with the global economic recession it is not as easy to emigrate.Internship programmes have the following benefits
Gain some experience
Getting that vital experience on the CV is often the difference between landing a job or not. Internships give graduates the chance to apply their learning and skills from college in a workplace environment.
Choose a career that’s right for you
It is difficult at the best of times to know how a career will progress and if it’s the right one for you. Internship programme offer the opportunity for a graduate to assess both the company and the industry to see if it’s the right fit for you.
Networking opportunity
The chance to meet and influence decision makers is a great opportunity. A couple of months in any company will give you the opportunity to make real contacts that may help secure a job further down the line.
It is important to fully consider all the implications in taking any internship. You may no longer be entitled to job seeker allowance. This will have to be weighed up against the benefits that this programme offers. It is entirely the decision of the graduate to take this placement or not.
