09/01/2017 - The most recent student immigration scheme came into effect from 1 January 2011 and included the introduction of maximum periods of residence in the State on foot of student permission, as well the introduction of a differentiated approach between Degree Programme courses and those at the Language or Non-Degree Programme level.

Employment permits and redundancy
09/10/2014 - A non-EEA national who is made redundant and has been working on an employment permit, must notify the employment permits section of the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation as soon as possible after they have been notified of their redundancy.
